Question

Why is my money not available to withdraw immediately after selling?

Answer

We cannot action your withdrawal request until the trade has fully settled as the cash from your deal is not physically available until the market settles the trade.  You are able to re-invest cash straight away, however in order to withdraw cash from your account you would need to wait until the settlement period is complete.

Please note there may be other conditions which affect whether you are able to withdraw cash, such as uncleared receipts.  Uncleared receipts are payments made into the account that have not cleared, we allow 5 business days from the date of receipt for them to fully clear.

Although you cannot withdraw cash same day, did you know that you can buy or sell in the same day?
