Question

Do unit trusts/OEICs pay out income?

Answer

It depends on the type of Unit Trust Fund/OEIC. There are two types of units: accumulation (re-investment) or distribution (income). Accumulation units are not added to your holding.

The income from accumulation units is re-invested into the fund, to improve the fund value. However, the income from distribution units is paid to you, usually twice a year.
