What does selling your rights Nil Paid mean?

Nil paid rights are due to those shareholders who hold shares on ex date of a rights issue. You have the option to take up those rights, lapse or sell. If you sell your rights Nil Paid on the market it simply means that you are selling your entitlement to the additional shares which you would have received onto someone else.
