Question

Why is your Corporate Action reply date different to the company's?

Answer

Barclays is a nominee stockbroker and as such we need to collate the responses from our underlying clients for a particular event before sending a response to the registrar.  In order to process the responses in a timely manner and to allow sufficient time to send our instruction to the registrar we will set a slightly earlier reply deadline than the company.  For the majority of stocks, there will only approximately be a 2 day difference between our reply deadline and the company's.
