Why was I not told about the ex-dividend date?

With ShareDeal accounts, the company that you hold shares in are responsible for informing you of when dividends are paid (Timetable of Events can be found in the documentation sent to all registered shareholders and often on the company's website if there is one is available).  This details when the dividend is paid, the ex-dividend date, the books closed date and the rate of the dividend.  It is your responsibility to read this information.

For all Nominee accounts you are able to find this information on our website.  Once logged in,  you can type in the name of the company in the search box on the top right and select search.

This will bring up Real time prices on your stock, select View company information located under the Stock information box.

This will bring up the Stock factsheet on the right hand side you will see the Ex-div date located in the Genral information box.
