Question

Why does my book value change after a Corporate Action?

Answer

Certain Corporate Actions such as return of capital; de-mergers; some bonus issues; and rights issues for example will involve an amendment to your book value.

The Corporate Action team will recalculate your book value as part of the Corporate Action event which will be reflected on your portfolio.

The apportionment factors that are applied to your book value are usually derived from the First Day Dealing price or as a percentage of capital that has been paid to you. As the calculations can involve several steps, there may be some rounding differences between what you might have calculated and what the Corporate Actions team has calculated.

If you do believe there has been an error made to your book value, please contact us on 0800 279 6551 / 0141 352 3909 or via secure email by:

Loggin into your account
