Question

Why have I been debited/credited 4 days after you have removed my shares?

Answer

As part of a Corporate Action event, the Corporate Actions team will remove your stock and apply the cash portion of the event (if applicable) to your portfolio on the same day. Due to the way the stock management system is set up, shares can be removed from your portfolio within 1 working day of the movements being passed.

However, due to the banking system, certain bank accounts i.e. those that do not have a Cash Management System set up with Barclays, can take up to 3 working days to be debited / credited. This is due to the Bankers Automated Clearing Services (BACS).
